Meet The Winemaker

Doug Hackett became fascinated with the wine business in the late 1990's while doing a number of promotion and marketing assignments for wineries in the California area through his production firm, The Hackett Group. He decided to attend UC Davis's Extension Winemaking Program and soon found that making wine was his true calling. In 2002, Doug opened his own winery, Dogwood Cellars, in Healdsburg of Sonoma and received numerous awards and 90+ scores for his wines.

Now an integral part of the Andis team, Doug's passion and enthusiasm for making world-class wines is more than apparent. "I would say I found something that sings to my heart. Winemaking is an art that I happen to have a talent for. It's so rewarding to create this art, then to see the look on people's faces when they try your wine and how it fills them with joy. Winemaking is a good life lesson."
