Barbera D'Amador
Award of Excellence
A true expression of a robust, full bodied and firmly tannic wine with deep dark color. Aromas of blackberry and black pepper along with notes of vanilla from oak aging.
Barbera is an Italian grape variety that made its way to Amador County during the Gold rush of the 1850's and still thrives here today. The variety's natural acidity and deep color make it a great option for blends, but also a wonderful stand-alone wine.
This red wine is a true expression of a robust, full bodied and firmly tannic wine with deep dark color, giving it a rustic appeal. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and black pepper along with notes of vanilla from oak aging.

This full-bodied wine offers rich, palate-coating fruit and dark-spice flavors that sit on a mouthfilling, velvety texture. Good depth and a sense of layering add to its considerable appeal.JIM GORDON

Probably the best domestic Barbera we have tasted, grown on the sandy clay loam and decomposed granite soils of the Hannah Vineyard and the Andis Estate. Aromas include coffee-inspired blueberry, walnut and tomato leaf. White peppered black cherry and Old World acidity offer up a sensational mouthfeel. Dark chocolate and brushy notes add more depth to the finish. MERIDITH MAY
