An expressive interplay of dark berry & spice flavors lead to a smoky, lingering finish; bold, seductive & most importantly, delicious.
BRONZE - NY World Wine & Spirits Competition, Sept 2014
Located at over 2,000 feet in elevation in the Fiddletown AVA of Amador County, Deadman's Fork is one of the most remote and legendary vineyards we have the privilege of working with each harvest. It clings to a rocky hillside surrounded by towering pines, taking courage to farm and patience to pick.
Always the last grape to arrive at the winery each year and often times picked after all the leaves have fallen off the vines, this Mourvedre reveals why high elevation farming can be worth the risk. An expressive interplay of dark berry and spice flavors lead to a smoky, lingering finish; bold, seductive and most importantly, delicious.
