- ABOUT ANDIS
Creating a wine blend is the winemaker's version of a painter staring at a blank canvas; the possibilities are endless. Painted Fields has been our red blend since we started making wine in 2008. We recently tasted all the blends from the oldest up to the current vintage and had a hoot seeing their evolution (one vintage had 13 varietals in it!!). In more recent years, the foundation of the wine has been a core blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah accented with 2 or 3 other varietals.
The 2012 Painted Fields is perfumed, elegant, and well-structured with aromas of ripe berries, cola, and cocoa. Layers of brownies, cherries, and strawberry come through on the palate, lingering through a long finish. A bit Bordeaux, a bit Rhone Valley, and complete California deliciousness.
