A red Italian varietal is grown predominately in northern Italy. We planted a few rows in our Estate vineyard to initially use as a blending option with Barbera but soon fell in love with the wine this grape produced on its own. Beautiful acidity and soft tannin structure compliment the bright red fruit, black cherry and raspberry flavors. Medium bodied with a touch of smokiness, try it with any of your favorite foods; steak hot off the grill, Korean short ribs or a hearty farmer's market salad with stone fruit. 1 barrel produced. 500ml
2016 Acacia Sémillon
Acacia wood has been used in France and Spain for many years to add a new dimension to white wines and in the aging of the sweet wines of Bordeaux, Loire Valley, and Gaillac. Acacia wood gives white wines an incredible floral characteristic with the added structural mouthfeel. No oak flavors. Just the fruit with a floral nose and great mouthfeel. In the U.S. Acacia is being used on wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Chenin Blanc. After fermenting in the barrel, this Sémillon was aged in Acacia barrels an additional 8 months. The resulting wine displays medium body, a delightfully smooth texture and notes of citrus, pineapple, and honey. Pair with fish tacos, grilled salmon, sushi or egg quiche. 2 barrels produced. 500ml
2016 Orange Wine of Viognier
Orange wine is a type of wine made from white wine grapes where the grape skins, which contain color pigment and phenols, stay in contact with the juice for several days or even months. This contrasts with conventional white wine production where grape skins are quickly removed from the juice after crushing. The extended skin contact gives the wine its orange color, unique flavor and texture. Our first attempt at Orange wine is made with Viognier grapes and was aged nearly 12 months in neutral oak barrels. The wine showcases a gorgeous amber color with aromas of wild prairie flowers and perfume. It smells sweet but is dry on the palate with flavors of vintage orange candy and mandarin. Pair with melted brie topped with walnuts and honey, manchego, or other hard sheep cheeses. Serve slightly chilled. 2 barrels produced. 500ml
