Expressing aromas of rose petals, blueberry and mint, the 2011 Grenache possesses a playful mix of spiciness and juiciness. Medium bodied and silky smooth it exhibits flavors of strawberry, cocoa, and cranberry juice. The wine has a distinctively long finish complimented by a rush of raspberry and floral overtones.
Because great Grenache is so sparsely planted in the Foothills (and the state as a whole for that matter) we source our Grenache from several small vineyards throughout Amador County. We bottled this wine after only 10 months in the cellar to capture the vibrancy of its character.

Food Pairing Notes
As with previous Andis Grenache vintages, the 2011 pairs beautifully with pork dishes. From a grilled pork loin to pan seared pork chops, the Grenache is a wonderful compliment. It also pairs well with aromatic soups, curries, Asian dishes and herb roasted chicken.
Bottled early and directly from one of our artisan concrete tanks to capture the freshness and delicate nature of this wine, the 2011 Grenache will continue to open over the next 6 to 12 months revealing additional layers of complexity. In the meantime, a gentle decanting before serving is strongly suggested.
