2012 Reserve Petite Sirah
Cooper Ranch, Amador County
The green peppercorn notes in the nose do drift the wine in the general direction of slightly green yet the central character here does not give in to it at any time and, indeed, stays pretty much on point in its "Petite Sirah-ness." Ripe, moderately fruity and very much on the astringent path that demanding lovers of the grape's power potential will like, this one can be put away for some four to eight years

88pts 1Star - CGCW
Sourced from the storied Cooper Ranch in Amador County, the 2012 Petite Sirah strives to exhibit both grace and power in this darkly hued, well-structured wine. Beautiful aromas of blueberry, espresso and red roses introduce flavors of blackberries and coffee. This is a perfect companion to steakhouse fare or Italian dishes.
