Wine is ultimately about place, and there's no place like home. Our Estate Zinfandel field holds a special place and is where the Andis story took hold. It practically spills over with juicy blackberry and boysenberry flavors backed by mild tannins
Medium to dark garnet in color, this wine smells of blackberry pie. In the mouth, very bright flavors of blackberry and pomegranate have a wonderful lift to them thanks to excellent acidity. Faint putty-like tannins coat the top of the mouth. Notes of licorice linger in the finish.
The Friedlander Block of our Estate consists of dry farmed head-trained vines planted in 1978 and situated in the rolling hills of the California Shenandoah Valley AVA in Amador County.
This block produces a wine that beautifully balances intensity and complexity, with structured tannins and brightness.
Friedlander Block is showing muscular characteristic and concentrated flavors. This red wine is a true full body Zinfandel with firm tannins, round palate, and a lingering finish.
